Profile

Graduated from the College Music Dept, Toho Gakuen School of Music. While at school, he got a prize in the Doppler Memorial Concours, and then he passed with the 1st prize at New Face Audition presented by Nippon Housou Kyoukai and the 4th prize in the Julius Baker Flute Master Class Concours in USA. He entered the Japan Shinsei Symphony Orchestra. As a flutist, he held recitals, collaborations with orchestra, and master class at music colleges, in Taiwan and China as well as in Japan. In 2007, he was invited to the "Shanghai Spring International Music Festival"the greatest music event in China, and collaborated with the Shanghai City Symphonic Orchestra, which was broadcasted within China. And, as a popular musician, he collaborates with Daisuke Asakura, Chikara Ueda, Kunihiko Sugano, Alison Brown and Jadranka, for expanding his field of activity beyond genres. Moreover, he has released so far 6 CDs including one with F. Doppler's works. His activity is not limited to performances, and he reported his study on Doppler in some media such as a flute journal etc. and he also regularly writes essays for "The Flute" a music magazine, and “One Point Lesson” for "Band Journal". On the other hand, he appears in plenty of TV and radio program as a personality, and has regular programs at FM Tochigi, CRT Tochigi, and many other programs as a DJ. As a conductor, too, he conducts several symphonic orchestras and brass orchestras domestically, and in 2005, he went out for China with the Tochigi City Brass Orchestra with a success. He is scheduled to conduct in the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra as a guest condutor at regular concert in the 2009/2010 season. Currently, he is a flutist in the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and is coaching next generation as lecturer at Ashikaga High School, the Hakuoh University, at the Music Dept of Mito Dai-San High School, and at the Creative Arts Dept, Souzou Gakuen University, and as a guest professor at a Christian College in Taiwan. He specialized flute with Soichi Minegishi and Julius Baker, conducting method with Nanao Yamamoto.
