先日、ミヤザワアーティストのマーク・グローウェルズさんが来日され、洗足学園音楽大学でマスタークラスが開催されました。
その模様を佐藤大祐先生から写真とコメントをいただいておりますので、以下にご紹介させていただきます。
マーク・グローウエルズ先生マスタークラスの報告
11/10洗足学園音楽大学でマーク・グローウェルズ客員教授のマスタークラスを 開催致しました。
今回は課題を決めてのグループによるマスタークラスとしました。
バロック音楽、古典音楽、ロマン派の音楽、ピアソラがマーク先生に捧げたタンゴの歴史という 課題で、各グループが練習、研究してきた曲を演奏したり他の学生の演奏を聴いたり と受け身の聴講とは一味違った集中力のあるマスタークラスとなりました。
タンゴの歴史では洗足学園音楽大学ならではのワールドミュージックコース バンドネオン専攻の学生にも加わってもらい特別なマスタークラスとなりました。
マーク先生のアドバイスで私が特に重要だと感じたのは音色の変化により聴衆の心をつかむ感覚、音の方向性による音楽の勢いの変化という事です。
マスタークラスの中でマーク先生はたくさん吹いてくださいましたがフルートの 概念を打ち破る様な彼の音色の変化には学生達も驚きを隠せませんでした。
マーク先生の音楽を学生達にもこんな音楽もあるのだと伝える事ができて私にとっても特別な一日となりました。

11/10. Marc Grauwels Master class report
On November 10th, a master class was held at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music with visiting professor Marc Grauwels. This time, we held a master class in groups with setting a topic. Each group played the pieces they had practiced and researched, listened to other students’ performances. The pieces are baroque, classical, and romantic music, as well as the history of the tango that Piazzolla dedicated to Marc. The master class was a little different from the previous ones, it was very special.
In the history of tango, there was a participation of students who study band neon from the world music course of Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. What I felt was particularly important from Marc’s advice was the sense of capturing the audience’s attention through the changes of tone of the sound, and changing the momentum of the music depending on the direction of the sound. Marc played a lot for the students to show how to play and make the music during the master class, and the students could not hide their surprise at the changes in his tone that broke the concept of the flute. It was a special day for me as well, as I was able to share Marc’s music with the students and tell them that there is no limit of the sounds made by flutist!
